The 4th Summit Meeting of IT Heads of State Institutions was held

The event is regularly organized by the Special Communication and Information Security State Service with the aim of facilitating the exchanging experience among information security heads of state institutions and strengthening inter- institutional communication. More than 100 representatives from 73 state institutions participated in the event, which was held for the fourth time.

Major General Azar Ahadov, Head of the Main Department of the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, opened the "Summit Meeting" with an introductory address, welcoming the participants and stating that Azerbaijan's activities in the field of ICT are being successfully continued along the strategic course defined with great foresight by the nationwide leader Heydar Aliyev, and today the importance of information technologies and the necessity of their widespread use are among the matters under the special attention of the President of the country, Mr. Ilham Aliyev. 

In his speech, A.Ahadov also emphasized that raising awareness of cyber threats among state institutions, representatives of media entities and the public is of equal importance. The Head of the Main Department provided detailed information about the  International “Cyber Diplomacy” Conference, to be held for the first time in the region by the SCISSS, as well as about the “Cyber Polygon” project approved under NATO’s Science for Peace and Security Programme.

Subsequently, at the opening ceremony of the event, speeches were delivered by Rahid Alakbarli, Acting Deputy Minister of Digital Development and Transport of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Elmir Valizada, Sector Head of the Administration of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

In the continuation of the event, Tural Mammadov, Head of Department at the Special Communication and Information Security State Service, provided participants with detailed information on the topic of  "The State of Information Security in State Institutions: Innovations and Plans", while  Ümit Yalçın Şen, Head of Cybersecurity Services at KPMG, addressed the topic of “The State of Internal Information Security in Enterprises: Innovations and Plans”.

The 4th Summit Meeting of IT Heads of State Institutions concluded with discussions on new threats, their possible solutions and the challenges faced by state institutions.
